Archives & Special Collections

The North Carolina Collection archives contains a variety of materials donated to the Library for use in research of local history and genealogy. Our archive collections include items from civic and social organizations, local businesses, governmental departments, genealogy research, artworks, and memorabilia.

Our special collections include scrapbooks, vertical files, maps, microfilm, yearbooks, and vintage and rare books on a variety of North Carolina topics including history, culture, art, biography, and the Civil War.

Our archive collections are available for research by request.
