Alexander Miller was an original member of the Forsyth Southrons. He attained the rank of Major on the staff of the 21st North Carolina Infantry Regiment. He was wounded in the breast and arm and taken prisoner at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 2-3, 1863.
